This development was challenging as the owners required a two storey dwelling on a total land area well under 500 square metres. The design demonstrates a high level of compliance and a result that can only be achieved through an experienced due diligence and detailed interpretation and assesment of Rescode and planning controls and regulations.
The new dwelling adopts a contemporary approach that avoids replica and generic type styles while incorporating design features that are appropriate in the context of the existing dwellings on Queen Street. The building design also includes provision of raked and flat roof forms and the use of render as the dominant building material. Additional character is provided using timber cladding within the facade with white glazed panel doors to the garage.
